世界紅卍字會創始於中國山東，奉行「儒、釋、道、耶、回」五教合一，並以促進世界和平，救濟災患為宗旨。「卍 」（音萬）字代表慈善事業應無遠弗屆，紅色則象徵莫失赤子之心。
香港紅卍字會於1931年成立，會址大樓則在1940年落成。大樓採用當時流行的中式文藝復興風格，立面古典、簡約，內在擺設裝飾則以中式為主。大樓樓高三層，正面有兩條左右對稱、互相平行的梯級，拾級而上便是辦公室和義診診所，三樓為供奉場所，天台還建有一座中式涼亭。
香港紅卍字會至今仍積極發展慈善事業，除了贈醫施藥、設立孤兒院等，更創辦中、小學。

Founded in Shandong of China, the Red Swastika Society advocates the union of the five major religions — Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity, and Islam. Its mission is to facilitate world peace and save suffering. The swastika in the logo represents an infinite devotion to charity work, and the colour red symbolises a pure heart.
The Hong Kong Red Swastika Society was established in 1931. Completed in 1940, this three-storey building is characterised by its Chinese Renaissance style, featuring a classic and simple elevation and Chinese-style decorations and furnishings. Two symmetrical staircases at the front of the building lead to the office and the clinic providing free consultation services. The third floor is a place of worship, and the roof is built with a Chinese-style pavilion.
Apart from providing free consultations and medicines, the society, which is active in charity, has established orphanages, as well as primary and secondary schools.
