「有些客人從一、兩歲喝到現在了!」長沙灣老字號「東莞佬涼茶」是黃氏的家族生意。店舖牆上掛著店東黃先生爺爺嫲嫲的黑白照，店內高掛了寫上涼茶功效的牌子，踏入店舖便看見「惠隆號」三個字-，在這三字之下則掛了「東莞佬涼茶」。
涼茶店原名是「惠隆號」，原本在戰前經營雜貨士多；但在戰後黃先生的父親就轉型經營涼茶舖。今天的涼茶店已有七十多年歷史，黃先生是第三代接手，而且他至今仍一直沿用父親的配方製涼茶 。早在上世紀八十年代，15、16歲的黃先生，已經在店內幫忙賣涼茶。每朝早和父親製涼茶，下午就接着賣。現在繼承了店舖，每天始終如一，店內的小大事務都由黃先生主理。
涼茶店客源主要都是以街坊為主，以前店舖內有座位供讓客人堂食，空間時黃先生也會與街坊和顧客聊天，因此與顧客與街坊都建立了深厚的感情。近年雖然涼茶店附近受重建影響，不少舊樓被拆，老街坊和顧客都搬走了，但仍有不少老街坊或者熟客專程回來光顧，體現舊區特有的人情味。

“Some customers have been drinking our tea since they were toddlers!” Wai Lung Ho Herb Tea is the family business of the Wong’s in Cheung Sha Wan. On the wall of the shop hang some old black and white photos of Mr. Wong’s grandparents. There is also a board that listed out beneficial functions of the herbal tea. The brand “Wai Lung Ho” is what you first see stepping into the shop, and underneath it is written, “Doughuan guy herbal tea”.
Wai Lung Ho was formerly a grocery store before the war. Mr. Wong’s father changed it into a herbal tea shop after the war and it has 70 years of history now. Mr. Wong is the 3rd generation. He insists in using his father’s traditional formula for making herbal tea. As early as in the 1980s, Mr. Wong started to help out at the shop when he was only 15 or 16 years old. In the morning, he made herbal tea with his father. In the afternoon, he helped in the front shop to serve customers. Now, he has inherited the shop and is managing it every day.
Customers of the herbal tea shop are mainly from the neighborhood. In the old days, there was seating for the customers. Mr. Wong would chat with his guests when he was not busy. He has established a very good relationship with the community. However, affected by redevelopment in recent years, many old tenement buildings were demolished. The old neighbors and regular customers had moved away. Yet, some of them still always come back for a visit. It is exactly this kind of lovely bonding among everyone that you can find in the old neighborhood.
