嘆歌是漁民群體其中一種常見歌謠。在婚嫁及喪禮場合中，漁民會嘆唱，是儀式中不可或缺的一環。在婚嫁中，新娘會嘆唱自己的人生、對未來生活的祈願等；在喪禮中，女性家人或親友會嘆唱來描述儀式現場和喪禮過程。嘆歌可以獨唱、對唱、甚至數人對唱，並無固定形式。由於上一輩漁民多不識字，所以嘆歌文字或曲譜記錄甚少，一直只靠口耳相傳。

Fishermen’s Laments is a type of folk songs widely known by the fishermen community. They will sing laments in the two most important life events, wedding and funeral. Singing fishermen’s lament is an essential part of the above two ceremonies. For marriage, a fisherman’s bride will sing about her past and her wishes towards the future. In funeral, the female family members or relatives will sing laments describing the scene and the course of event of the funeral. Fishermen’s laments can be sung in solo, duet or group. It does not have a fixed form or script. As fishermen of the older generation were mostly illiterate, hence there were no record of the lyrics or scores of fishermen’s laments. They are inherited by word-of-mouth.

/ 關於非遺專車計劃
本計劃由康樂及文化事務署非物質文化遺產資助計劃資助，非物質文化遺產辦事處主辦，並由長春社文化古蹟資源中心籌劃，非遺專車——「移動．非遺」會駛進全港中小學校園及各個社區，把不同非物質文化遺產（非遺）項目帶到大家身旁。非遺專車內設有展覽及互動設施，同時配有一系列教育及公眾節目，以有趣和互動的方式提升學生與公眾對非遺的認識，並從中學習欣賞和珍惜文化遺產。
