The project, sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and organised by Hong Kong Resource Centre for Heritage (formerly “The Con- servancy Association Centre for Heritage ‘’). It focuses on five items from the Representative List of Hong Kong’s Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH), namely the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance, Tin Hau Festival in Hong Kong, The Arts of Guqin (The Craft of Qin Making), Paper Crafting Technique, and Bamboo Theatre Building Technique. The initiative encompasses a series of promotional and educational activities aimed at cultivating the next generation of tradition bearers and practitioners, as well as to explore how Hong Kong’s intangible cultural heritage can contribute to a more wholistic sustainable development approach. The primary objective of this project is to facilitate a firsthand experience of intangible cultural heritage through creative activities, fostering an understanding and appreciation among the public, particularly the younger generation. By forging a connection be- tween tradition bearers and the public, the project aims to underscore the importance of collective civic responsibility in the conservation of our city’s heritage assets.
